A revision of the genera Hyperskeles Butler and Eraina Clarke (Lepidoptera: Autostichidae)

Abstract

The genera Hyperskeles Butler and Eraina Clarke are redescribed and assigned to the family Autostichidae, based on morphological characters of male genital structures and abdominal vestiture. Also, the species H. choreutidea Butler and E. thamnocephala Clarke are redescribed, and three new species of the genus Eraina, E. stilifera, E. ungulifera and E. furcifera, are described from central zone of Chile. Diagnostic characters for the genera and species are given, and images of adults, illustrations of genital structures and a key for identification of Eraina species are provided.
