Abstract

The Icteridae has 12 taxa in Chile, five are resident and seven are vagrants. A male of White-browed Blackbird (Sturnella superciliaris) was observed and photographed in April 2013 on the east side of the Atacama salt lake, in a scrubland of Tessaria absinthioides - Atriplex atacamensis. First recorded in Chile in 1938 in the Andes of Coquimbo region, this is the second record for the country.
