Abstract

A new monospecific genus of Depressariidae, Betsabella nov. gen., is described from central Chile. The new genus is distinguished from all other known Chilean genera by the long porrect labial palpi and forewing with vein R5 reaching to costa. Diagnostic characters for the genus and species are given. Photographs of adult, labial palpus and abdomen, and illustrations of wing venation and structures of the genitalia are provided.
