This work describes the finding of a specimen of Rhinoderma darwinii (Duméril and Bibron, 1841) in the surroundings of El Cañi Sanctuary (La Araucania Region, Chile). Establishing a new record for the region in a location not documented so far. This information is important because this amphibian is currently in danger and with a population decreasing. In addition, the individuals of this species have a high fidelity to the place where it lives. This is relevant to take conservation measures, considering that currently there are only two populations present in the region and the individual’s finding occurs within a disturbed area due to human activities within the boundaries of a protected area.
