Abstract

A Coleoptera species list from Region of Arica and Parinacota and from Region of Tarapacá is given; geo- graphic distribution is reported for each species, including a detail of localities for Chilean administrative provinces. In the studied area are registered 333 beetle species belonging to 32 families, only six of them (Carabidae, Coccinellidae, Curculionidae, Scarabaeidae, Staphylinidae and Tenebrionidae) contribute with over 63% to the total of registered species; Tenebrionidae show the highest species number (82 species). Representatives of genera Anchonoderus (Carabidae), Rolla (Staphylinidae) and Zonitis (Meloidae), and Conoderus amplicollis Gyllenhal (Elateridae), Xyletineurus bombycinus (Erichson) (Ptinidae) y and Prao- cis peltata Erichson (Tenebrionidae) are reported for the first time in Chile.
