Abstract

A new genus of Saprininae, is described for Saprinus dolatus Marseul, 1862, from the coastal region of Rio Janeiro, Brazil. Its distribution is extended to other countries of the Atlantic coastal area of South Ame­rica, recognizing its psammophily habitat. It has included the genitalia of both sexes, antenna, jaws, chin, maxilla and drawings of the male genitalia.
