Abstract

A single Wilson`s Plover (Charadrius wilsonia) was observed and photographed on December 2008 on the Antofagasta coast, near the Loa river mouth. The species was previously observed in Arica; the present record is documented by photographs and is the southernmost sighting of this species along both the Pacific and the Atlantic coasts.
