Checklist and geographical distribution of Coccinellidae (Insecta: Coleoptera) species occurring in Chile

Abstract

An annotated checklist of Chilean Coccinellidae species is provided including synonymies, distribution records and taxonomic status. Some species must be deleted of the Chileans repertoire as indicated. Pseudosmilia Brèthes is recognized as a junior synonym of Coccidophilus Brèthes and Sarapidus Gordon of Parasidis Brèthes. Curinus ruizi Brèthes is transferred to Cyra Mulsant genus. The new name Scymnus (Pullus) helmutfurschi is proposed for Scymnus (Pullus) rubicundus Kapur. Hyperaspis puella Mulsant is a junior synonym of Hyperaspis funesta (Germain). 26 genera and 93 species are cited.
