Abstract

Twenty five species of fossil mollusks distributed in 12 bivalves and 13 gastropods, from fossiliferous deposits of Crosslet and Hereford islands, were recognized. Descriptive and taxonomic observations for each specimen are given and some of them are figured. Accordingly to the fossil assemblage and lithology, the collecting places correspond to a same unit which is present in both neighbouring islands. Previous information and results of this study allow the author to propose a Middle to Late Miocene age for the fauna and the bearing deposits.
