Abstract

The aim of this paper is to provide more information about the subfamilies Camiarinae and Cholevinae from Neotropical region. Data about morphology, variability and geographical distribution of 31 species are given. A new species is described, Chiliopelates lanceolatus n. sp., and a new synonymy is proposed, Chiliopelates crenulata (Hlisnikovsky, 1964) = Chiliopelates kuscheli (Jeannel, 1957). Moreover, we describe the male of Chiliopelates ventricosus (Jeannel, 1957) with its differential characters, the genital segment of the male and the aedeagus; we also present the first records in Argentina of Nemadiolus (Nemadiolus) crassicornis Jeannel, 1962, in Chile of Nemadiopsis (Nemadiopsis) edwardsi Jeannel, 1936, and in Paraguay of Dissochaetus murrayi Reitter, 1884. Lastly, a key to the species of the genus Chiliopelates is given.
