Abstract

A checklist of vascular flora recorded on an East - West transection sampling through the Eight Region in Chile is presented. 199 species, 49 families and 138 genera were recorded, life- form and origin are also included. 47% of species are European in origin, 27% natives or endemic and 6% from Eurasia. Poaceae, Asteraceae and Fabaceae were the families with higher species number, same sequence has been reponed for alien species in the Chilean Mediterranean Region as well as for allien floras in different areas in the world.
