Abstract

The results of the zooarchaeological analysis made to the rests of mastodons extracted of the Quebrada Quereo at the end of the nineteenth century are presented, with the intention of evaluating a possible cultural action on them. The results are discussed in terms of the relation man-mastodon in the place and a hypothetical model of interaction between this extinct mammal and the earliest inhabitants of the sector is proposed.
