Abstract

Based on samples carried out at Soler Valley in january-february 1999 period, collection data of Museo Nacional de Historia Natural and published references, a preliminary list of coleopterous species recorded for Laguna San Rafael National Park is given. One hundred Coleoptera species belonging to 37 families, are recorded; for each species geographic distribution, collect Park localities, infered or known ecological activity and habitat preference are detailed. Based upon die specific composition analysis, 50% of the species are recognised as typical components of Valdivian forest; contribution from Magellanic forest is clearly minor. Also, differences in species assemblage between oriental and occidental areas of the Park are detected, reflecting different biotic and abiotic conditions proper to each one.
