Abstract

Bivalves and gastropods in fossiliferous samples collected at Stokes island (Los Chonos Archipelago), Southern Chile, which showed limited paleontological information, are reported. Nine bivalve species and fifteen gastropods were determined; taxonomic remarks and comments for each species are included; some of them (8) are figured. An Early to Middle miocene age is suggested for the faunistic association, principally favoured for its close relation with that from the Navidad Member o f the Navidad Formation in its typical locality in central Chile.
