Revision of the species of Caenohalictus (Halictidae - Apoidea) present in Chile

This revision of the Chilean species of Caenohalictus includes: Amorphological analysis of the male genitalia; A description of the genus and a key of the Chilean species; Redescriptions of the types of: C. azarae, C. cuprellus, C. dolator, C. iodurus, C. monilicornis,C. opaciceps, C. opacus and C. rostraticeps -C. azarae Cockerell, 1926 y C. monilicornis Alfken, 1932 are considered as forms into a continuous of variations-New synonimy: C. angolensis Cockerell, 1937= female of azarae Cockerel; C. monilicornis Alfken, 1932,and C. rostraticeps (Friese, 1916) are considered valid; Seven new species are described: C. aplacodes n.sp., C.fulgens n.sp., C. intermedius n.sp., C. turquesa n.sp., C.pygosinuatum n.sp., C. cyanopygus n.sp., C. galletue n.sp.; the male of C. thauca is described. Four species groups are distinguished. A strong variation of the male genitalia of C. cuprellus and a strong variation of external morphology of the male of pygosinuatum n.sp. is described. The variability of all the species in relation to the season and distribution is given.
