Abstract

Twelve families, 23 genera and 38 species of prosobranchs molluscs obtained in 24 stations between 15 to 664 m, during the scientific campaign in 1994 by the german B/I Victor Hensen in the Straits of Magellan, channels to the south of the Strait and around the Beagle Canal are informed. Of these, five are new geographic registrations for the area (Margarella jason, Margarella tropidophoroides, Chlanidola densesculpta, Falsilunatia soluta and Xymenopsis muriciformis). These new findings confirm the species exchange process between Antarctica and areas towards the north. It was also possible to observe the opposite phenomenon from the north to the south of the continent as is the case of Capulus ungaricoides.
