Abstract

Macrochiridothea setifer is redescribed. This species, poorly known, is common in sandy beaches from southern and central Chile (30 S to 43 35 S). The genus Macrochiridothea comprises 11 species, among which ten live exclusively in South American coasts. A checklist of all species with comments about their distribution and taxonomy and an identification key are presented.
