Abstract

A new species, belonging to the "ruibali" group, is described as Liolaemus rosenmanni from the Andes range of Copiapo (Chile). It differs from the related L. famatinae because the latter has keeled scales on dorsum, L. rosenmanni has smooth scales; L. duellmani is bigger and patterned with bars, L. rosenmanni is spotted; L. eleodori has anal pores in both sexes, patterned with reddish spots, L. rosenmanni has anal pores restricted to males. From L. ruibaliL. rosenmanni differs in dorsal pattern, striking pigmented in the former (blue and yellow), the latter does not exhibit colours on the dorsum.

Karyotypical comparisons among L. eleodori,L. ruibaliL. rosenmanni and Liolaemus sp. from Baños del Toro (Chile) are made.
