Abstract

The Listroderes nodifer species group comprises five species endemic to central Chile: L. nodifer Boheman, L. erinaceus Germain, L. hoffmanni Germain, L. brevirostris Germain, and L. desertorum Germain (= L. histrio Germain syn. nov). The group is described, redescriptions and illustrations of its species arc presented, and a key for identifying them is provided. The nodifer group is distinguished from other Listroderes groups by the elytra with an oblique series of 3-4 declivital tubercles and female sternite 8 with very short apodeme and enlarged plate. The cladistic analysis shows the following phylogenetic sequence: L. desertrorum. L. hoffmanni, L. erinaceus, L. brevirostris, and L. nodifer.
