El género Colpomenia (F.C. Mertens ex Roth) Derbes et Solier (Phaeophyceae), en Chile

Abstract

The taxonomy of chilean Colpomenia species is reviewed considering morphologic and anatomic characters of the thallus. Four species were recognized: C sinuosa, C. tuberculata, C. ramosa and C. durvillaei. C. durvillaei is a new combination from Asperococcus durvillaei, a species described early by Bory from Concepcion Bay, (36R40') Chile. An artificial key as well as new dates and geographic distribution are given for the studied species.
