Abas y Velosaura nuevos géneros de lagartos Iguanidae y proposiciones sistemáticas respecto de los géneros aliados (Reptilia: Squamata)

Abstract

Abas and Velosaura, two new genus for iguanid lizards from northern Chile, are described. The new genus Abas include L. anomalus Koslowsky, L. pseudoanomalus Cei, L. insolitus Cei and Pefaur and L. fabiani Yanez and Nunez. To the genus Velosaura are assigned the species Ctenoblepharis jamesi Boulenger and Liolaemus aymararum Veloso et al. The genus Phrynosaura is ratified for P. reichei Wemer and Ctenoblepharis audituvelatus Nuñez and Yañez. A morphological cline from Phrynosaura to Liolaemus is suggested by us, and the specific composition for all involved genera is given.
