Abstract

Flamigolepis chileno sp. n. is described from the Chilean flamingo Phoenicoparrus aridinus. It differs from other members of the genus by the greater number of testes and unique shape of the rostellar hooks. It can further be discriminated from F. flamingo, F. liguloides, F. megalorchis and F. tengizi by the larger length of rostellar hooks and from F. megalorchis and F. tengizi in strobila size and total number of proglottids. A key for separation of the species is presented.
