Abstract

The life cycle of Orsotricha venosa (Butler, 1883) was analized in a population at Mantagua, Valparaiso, in the coastal area. Five instars are recognized in the larval stage. Behavioural considerations of larvae and adults are made. The duration of the life cycle of the species and the generation are established. Eurymetopum maculatum Blanchard, 1842 is recognized as the principal predator. One species of Eurytomidae and another of Encyrtidae are the most outstanding parasites. A life table of the species envolved is given.
