Abstract

New experiments about the regeneration of appendixes in Bacteria granulicollis Blanchard are presented. During these experiments the regeneration phenomenon has been studied in relation to age, level and time of year at which the amputation is practiced. From the quantitative analysis it may be concluded that there is a direct correspondence between the higher level of the amputation and autotomy, and that at a younger age there is a greater possibility of regeneration. Furthermore it was possible to establish more and less favorable times of year in relation to the date of amputation or autotomy.
