Abstract

Ten specimens of the crinoid Solanometra antarctica (Carpenter, 1888) were obtained in the archibenthal region of Central Chile. This species is recorded for the first time from outside the Antarctic region. Specific diagnose for the species and a biogeographic discussion are included.
