Abstract

Morphology of the spores of eighteen species of Pteridophytas from Juan Fernandez Islands belonging to thirteen genera. The genera Asplenium, Ctenitis, Polystichum, Blechnum, Arthropteris, Pleopeltis, Hypolepis e Histiopteris presents monolete spores, bilateral with smooth exina, verrucated or spinulose, perine baculated with spines, granulate or smooth.
The genera Adiantum, Pteris, Dicksonia, Hymenophyllum and Lophosoria presents trilete spores, with verrucated exina or foveolated, predominating the proximal face concave, only in Adiantum aethiopicum the proximal face is convex. The spores of Lophosoria quadripinnata are the single which presents cingulum.
