Abstract

Present report discusses an Ophiuroidea from rio Trongol in the province of Arauco, Central Chile. The form here reported Is grouped under the family Ophiactidae MATSUMOTO, 1915, with the species Ophiactis lebuensis nov sp. Stratigraphic considerations permit to assign tentatively an eocene age to this form.
