The general ecological and fishing situation on Galaxias maculatus in Chile is described. The relative fecundity is observed from September to April. The spawning details are observed in aquariums. The embryonal development of the brood is observed by the author, but not described in this paper a s his results coincide with those by Benzie (1968), New Zealand.
A comparison was made. A possible secondary adaptation of Galaxias maculatus, which would be reproduced in the interior Chilean lakes, without influence of the sea is finally discussed.
