Abstract

Aphelosternus gracilis n. sp. is described and illustrated. All specimens were collected with pitfall trap at the vicinity of mower ant dumps, Acromyrmex lundii (Guérin-Méneville), in the biogeografic region of the Chaco, Province San Luís, Argentina. The taxonomic position of this new species within Aphelosternus genus is discussed.
