Abstract

The study of 107 skulls of Abrothrix hirta from the geographic areas of Osorno and Aysén using traditional cranial morphology and geometric morphometry, showed differences between specimens of both locations. The comparison between the two groups for geographical origin category evidence significant difference, in that the greatest differences in cranial morphology reflected the posterior skull-media area. While the analysis focused on differences between males and females, did not reveal significant differences.
