An anatomical description of the 117 bones that compound the skull of Merluccius gayi (Guichenot, 1848) was made. It includes a detailed description of articulations between those bones.

241 bony structures (axial and appendicular skeletons) are distributed in two groups.
51 - 52 vertebrae.
Faired fins bones (pectoral and pelvic fins).
Unpaired fins bones (dorsal, caudal and anal fins).
