We report the photo-identification of three specimens of Balaenoptera physalus quoyi at Chañaral Island, Atacama Region in December 2022. Photographs were taken with a Nikkon D3200 and a 70 300 mm zoom lens from a boat. The validation of the species considered the presence of the whitish colouration present on the right mandibular branch, which is characteristic of the species, and also the shape and location of the dorsal fin. It is evident that one of the specimens (Bp MNHN_ UC003) has a mark across the dorsal fin, which is considered to be the result of anthropogenic action.
